Internal & Recruitment Publications Design System

Client:

Grundon Waste Management

Challenge:

Create a consistent and scalable publication system for employee and recruitment communications, improving usability, reducing duplication, and strengthening brand alignment across a large collection of existing materials.

Responsibilities:

Led the review and redesign of Grundon's internal publication suite, auditing existing communications and developing a shared editorial and visual framework. Collaborated with HR and Marketing stakeholders to simplify content structures, establish design standards, and create a flexible system that could support multiple publication types across print and digital formats.

Grundon's employee-facing communications had evolved over time into a collection of publications with varying structures, styles, and levels of consistency. Working closely with the Head of HR, I conducted a comprehensive audit of more than twenty existing documents to identify opportunities for consolidation, simplification, and improved usability. I then developed a unified publication system, establishing shared editorial principles, content structures, and visual standards that could be applied across recruitment and internal communications. The resulting suite balanced consistency with flexibility, enabling different publications to maintain their individual purpose while operating within a cohesive framework. By creating a structured and scalable system, the project improved the employee experience, strengthened brand consistency, and made future content updates more efficient to manage.
